Uganda takes part in 127th Session of the International Coffee Council

Dr. Emmanuel Iyamulemye, Managing Director, Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) is representing Uganda at the 127th Session of the International Coffee Council as the main speaker. Uganda is a member of the Finance and Administration Committee and the Statistics Committee of the ICO.

Ambassador Julius Peter Moto, Uganda High Commission to London will be the alternate speaker. The other Ugandan delegates attending the online meeting which runs from 2nd - 11th September include Julius Leonard Mugerwa, the Deputy High Commission to London and Jackie Kemirembe of the Uganda High Commission to London. Dr. Emmanuel Iyamulemye served as Chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee in the Coffee Year October 2018 - September 2019.

Uganda, the leading exporter of coffee in Africa is a member of the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) and one of the biggest contributors to the administrative budget of the global organisation. 

The ICO is the main intergovernmental organisation for coffee, bringing together exporting and importing governments to tackle challenges facing the world coffee sector through international cooperation. 

The ICO meets twice a year to discuss wide ranging issues with the aim of promoting sustainable coffee sector in the world.
